Standards we work with
ISO 9001: quality management system
ISO 9001 sets out the requirements a company must meet to have a quality management system in place. It is a generic standard, applicable to any manufacturing, service or industrial sector regardless of company size, and it complements ISO 14001 for environmental management. Its focus is on the customer and customer satisfaction.
Benefits of implementing ISO 9001:
- Greater customer satisfaction through higher-quality products or services.
- Greater efficiency and effectiveness, and therefore greater profitability.
- Better-defined working methods and less time spent correcting faults and errors.
- Better working conditions and stronger employee commitment.
- New business opportunities: many companies require the certificate from their customers and suppliers.
ISO 14001: environmental management system
UNE-EN ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management. It describes the company's internal processes and procedures that affect the environment, with the aim of reducing impacts and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. It applies to any company or organisation, of any size or sector.
By knowing and evaluating the environmental effects of its activity, a company can manage them properly and cut costs through lower waste generation and more efficient use of raw materials, energy and water. Benefits of implementing ISO 14001:
- Improves the organisation's credibility and image.
- Helps you comply with environmental legislation and regulations.
- Increases profitability through optimised use of resources and lower costs.
- Fosters a culture of continual improvement and employee motivation.
EMAS: the EU eco-management and audit scheme
The EMAS Regulation proposes an environmental management system based on ISO 14001, with additional requirements of its own that make it a model of excellence. It can be implemented at one, several or all sites of a public or private organisation in any sector, and it can be integrated with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Main differences between EMAS and ISO 14001:
- ISO 14001 is an international standard; EMAS applies to organisations in the European Union.
- EMAS requires an environmental review before implementation; ISO 14001 only recommends one.
- EMAS requires a public environmental statement, validated by an independent accredited verifier; ISO 14001 does not.
- EMAS requires compliance with all applicable environmental requirements; ISO 14001 requires a commitment to comply with them.
- EMAS sets the frequency of the system audit; ISO 14001 refers to planned intervals.
1. Implementing the management system
We prepare a tailored proposal. If your company already has in-house quality or environmental managers, the implementation plan is built around them and we reduce the hours of work; if it does not, we take on a larger share of the project.
2. Monitoring and controlling the system
We review the state of the system on a fortnightly or monthly basis:
- Non-conformities.
- Procedures and applicable regulations.
- Correct use of procedures and forms.
- Communication of changes to staff.
3. Legislation control
We keep you regularly informed of changes to the laws and standards that affect your company, so that the system stays up to date.
4. Training
Specialised, tailored training of 6 to 8 hours on the key concepts for implementing and maintaining an ISO management system. It is designed for the company's quality and environmental managers and for internal auditors.
5. ISO and EMAS internal audit
The internal audit evaluates the management system independently and objectively. It identifies areas for improvement and risks, whether existing or potential, and reviews the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
The conclusions are set out in the internal audit report, which management uses to reduce those risks and make better decisions.
Advantages of an integrated management system
- Lower implementation cost.
- Far less documentation.
- Simultaneous audits.
- Faster certification.
- An incentive for innovation.
- A stronger competitive position in the market.
- Legal compliance and assured product quality.
